Steven Paul Bosman, 77, of Gresham, Wisconsin, went home to Jesus on December 26, 2023. Steve was born on May 5, 1946 to Heiman and Marie (TeGrootenhuis) Bosman in Baldwin, Wisconsin. He was an older brother to Glenda, Rose, and Tim. After graduating from Baldwin-Woodville High School in 1964, Steve went on to serve in the Marines and spent time in Japan. Steve attended Reformed Bible College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. There he met Trudy Harmelink, and they were married on June 5, 1970. They had seven wonderful children.
Steve and Trudy moved to Gresham, Wisconsin, in 1978 in answer to a request to help with the Old Stockbridge and Menominee Orthodox Presbyterian Churches. He became an elder at the Menominee Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Zoar, serving alongside the late Harry and Lavina Shawano. After moving into the area, Steve first worked for a local builder before starting his own construction business, Bosman Builders. He also worked for several years at Menominee Tribal Housing in Keshena. Following his “retirement,” Steve kept busy helping to renovate the historic Notiviate mansion and raising a few chickens. He was a member of the American Legion – Gresham.
He enjoyed spending time with family and touched the lives of many giving help to those who needed it when he could. Even after his death, he helped other people by being an organ and tissue donor.
Steve continued to be active in the churches in Zoar and Shawano. Even though the church in Zoar does not have a pastor at this time, he continued to call on people and lead Bible studies in order to reach out to the Menominee community. Steve was a dedicated and giving person to many. He loved his faith, his church, and the ability to serve others. Throughout his entire life, he held an unwavering faith in God, which he shared with those around him.
He is survived by his wife, Trudy; seven children, Joel (Amy) Bosman of Minonk, IL, Tim Bosman of Bonduel, WI, Tom (Dawn) Bosman of Shawano, WI, Christine Bosman of Duluth, MN, Stephanie (Ethan) Fernhaber of Indianapolis, IN, Sue Bosman of Waukesha, WI, and Dr. Lisa (Jim Vaughan) Bosman of Indianapolis, IN; ten grandchildren, Samantha, Rugby, Riley, Terry, Tucker, Ryan, Leah, Claire, Ava, Valerie; five great-grandchildren; sisters Rose (Jim) Hutt and Glenda (Roy) Kanis; brother Tim Bosman; and numerous other extended family members and friends.
Steve is preceded in death by his parents, infant sister Marcella, and sister-in-law Cindy Bosman.
A funeral service for Steven will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday December 30, 2023, at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with Pastor Gordon Oliver officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 pm until the time of service. Inurnment will be at Gresham Public Cemetery at a later date.
