STEVENS POINT, WI- The Bonduel Bears improved their win streak to seven games and handed 3rd ranked Pacelli their first loss of the season at the Quandt Field House as part of the 53rd Annual Sentry Classic.
“We scheduled this tournament knowing that these are good teams and in the long run it is going to be good for our kids,” said Coach Duke Copp.
Noah Weier led Bonduel with 19 points and hit four three-point shots in the game.
“We were relentless defensively, and we played deep and played some tough basketball.”
Bonduel led 39-32 at the game and took advantage of 28 Pacelli turnovers.
“We wanted a better start tonight and I think we did that,” said Copp.
The Cardinals were without leading scorer Jaydon Awe due to injury, but struggled with ball control and making shots. Logan Mayer had 15, Camden Schurk had 12 and Zach Jeidy had 10.
Bonduel got 10 points from Ryan Westrich and 9 points from both Cade Johnson and Race Anvelink.
Bonduel will play another unbeaten team, Almond-Bancroft on Saturday.
