Shawano Students Hold Successful Food Drive

SHAWANO, WI- Students at Olga Brener Intermediate School collected hundreds of food items during
their December Traveling Trophy Challenge. Each month, the school’s students
compete against each other in a challenge with a winner declared at each grade level.
The winning classroom gets to display the trophy for a month and students receive an
extra recess while the teacher receives an extra break.
December’s challenge is always a food drive. This year, the food was donated to
SAFPARC (Shawano Area Food Pantry and Resource Center).
The winning classrooms and the total items collected were: 3rd grade, Judielynn Bauer’s
class, 114 items; 4th grade, Courtney Carlson’s class with 223 items; and 5th grade,
Jennifer Sperberg’s class with 356 items.
