WEYAUWEGA, WI- On December 16, 2023, at 9:13 PM, the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to US
Highway 10 in the Weyauwega area for a report of a pickup truck traveling westbound in the
eastbound lanes. Moments later, it was reported the vehicle had crashed into an oncoming SUV.
There were four people in the SUV, three that were pronounced deceased at the scene and one that was transported to a
medical facility for critical, life threatening injuries. This individual was later pronounced deceased at
the hospital. The driver of the pickup truck was transported to a medical facility for critical injury.
The victims have been identified as 25-year old Daniel Gonzalez and 23-year old Fabian Gonzalez, as well as 14-year-old Lilian Gonzalez, a was a freshman at Weyauwega-Fremont High School and 9-year-old Daniela Gonzalez, a fourth grader.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.
Scott C. Farmer, 47, of Neenah, was arrested by the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office, and charged with Homicide by intoxicated use of vehicle x4 and Operating while revoked (Cause Death) x4
The Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Waupaca County Highway Department,
Wisconsin State Patrol, Weyauwega Police Department, Weyauwega Fire Department, Gold Cross
Weyauwega, and Fremont Ambulance. There was a cat and dog involved in the crash as well. The
Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office was assisted in their care by the Humane Society of Waupaca and
Clintonville Hometown Veterinary Service.
