WEYAUWEGA, WI-The Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office responded to a distress call reporting a pickup truck traveling westbound in the eastbound lane on US Highway 10 in the town of Weyauwega on Saturday night. The ensuing collision involved the westbound pickup truck colliding head-on with an eastbound SUV, resulting in a devastating incident that claimed three lives and left two individuals in critical condition.
The SUV, occupied by four people, bore the brunt of the impact. Tragically, three individuals were pronounced deceased at the scene, and one occupant was rushed to a medical facility with critical, life-threatening injuries. Simultaneously, the driver of the westbound pickup truck sustained critical injuries and was also transported to a medical facility.
Preliminary investigations indicate that alcohol may have played a role in the tragic crash, though a comprehensive inquiry is underway to establish the exact circumstances leading to the incident.
