CLINTONVILLE, WI- In a recent session on November 14, the Clintonville City Council greenlit the 2024 budget, revealing both a decreased tax levy and a consistent tax rate of $11.72 per $1,000 of equalized value, mirroring the figures from the preceding year.
City Administrator Caz Muske presented the proposed 2024 budget to the Clintonville Finance Committee on November 13, outlining key details. The total levy for 2024 amounts to slightly above $2.5 million, a notable decline from the previous year’s levy, which was just under $2.7 million.
Muske emphasized that despite initial plans for a 97-cent increase in the tax rate, city staff diligently worked to maintain the rate at $11.72. The breakdown of the tax rate includes $7.66 for the operating levy and $4.06 for the debt levy.
