KESHENA, WI- In a historic move, Governor Tony Evers has selected Douglas Cox, a Menominee Tribal Legislator and the tribe’s land management director, to join the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Board. This groundbreaking appointment marks the first time an enrolled member of the Menominee tribe has been entrusted with a role on this influential board.
With an impressive track record of over three decades working closely with the Menominee tribe, Douglas Cox brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this new position. His background includes serving as the chairman for the Wisconsin Conservation Congress, underscoring his deep commitment to environmental conservation. Cox’s academic qualifications also bolster his suitability for the role, boasting a bachelor’s degree in biology and environmental science.
