MARINETTE, WI- A single-vehicle accident unfolded on a Saturday morning, claiming the life of a young man, according to the Marinette County Sheriff’s Department.
The victim, identified as 22-year-old Robert Perry from Amberg, was heading west along Perch Lake Road near Nelson Road in Athelstane. It was learned that he failed to navigate a corner, resulting in a collision with an embankment that sent his vehicle airborne before colliding with trees. Perry was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
Preliminary findings indicate that excessive speed and the failure to negotiate the corner properly were contributing factors to this heart-wrenching crash, as confirmed in a statement by Sheriff Randy Miller.
