PORT EDWARDS, WI-The Wood County Sheriff’s Department has confirmed that the human remains discovered in Port Edwards earlier this year belong to Paul Christian, a Waupaca-area man who had been missing for several years. What was initially a mysterious case of skeletal remains found in the Wisconsin River has now escalated into a full-blown homicide investigation.
The discovery of these skeletal remains began in July 2022 near the dam in Port Edwards. After months of forensic analysis and DNA testing, authorities were able to conclusively match the remains to Paul Christian, who would have been 49 years old today.
The Wood County Sheriff’s Department is urging anyone with information related to Paul Christian’s disappearance or the circumstances surrounding his death to come forward.
