Ronald L. Grunewald, age 69 of the Town of Pella, Shawano County, passed away at his home on Thursday evening, June 29, 2023.
Ronald Lee Grunewald was born May 20, 1954, in Tigerton, WI, son to the late Robert & Evelyn (Redman) Grunewald. He attended Marion High School, where Ron was an all-conference football player and competed on the wrestling team; later graduating with the class of 1972. He was united in marriage to Judy Aderman on September 28, 1974, at Zion Lutheran Church in Caroline where they are current members. Ron entered the U.S. Army in 1975, serving as Military Police, stationed in Aschaffenburg, Germany for about 2 years. After an honorable discharge from service, Ron returned to the U.S. and started his career as a deputy with the Shawano County Sheriff; serving the county for 30 years before retiring. As an active member at Zion Lutheran Church, Caroline, Ron served as a trustee on the church council many different times; also serving on the Marion School Board for 9 years. In his younger years, Ron enjoyed hunting and fishing, but the outdoors called to him throughout his life allowing him to enjoy God’s creation everyday. He was in his happy place while tinkering on anything with an engine with his best friend and neighbor, Dennis. In his later years, he enjoyed studying his family’s genealogy and riding ATVs and snowmobiles. Ron loved his family and the Lord, and was eager to show that love. His favorite moments were ones spent with his family, especially his grandkids.

Brother-in-law: Robert (Nancy) Aderman Jr., Milwaukee
Sister-in-law: Ann (Jim) Mattes, Marion
Ron was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Patsy Schachtschneider;a brother-in-law Arlin Schachtschneider; his father and mother in-law, Robert Sr. & Doris Aderman; & brothers-in-law, Tom Malueg & James “Fred” Aderman.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM on Thursday, July 6, 2023, at Zion Lutheran Church, Caroline, with the Rev. James Folz officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Blashe – Peters – Tober American Legion Post # 456 of Caroline. Interment will take place at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Caroline.
Visitation will take place on Thursday at the church, from 9 AM until the time of service.
