KESHENA, WI- Governor Tony Evers has announced future help for tribal food programs. The Governor made an announcement last week that the next biennial state budget would include $1.5 million dollars to help tribal food programs like the Patricia B. Goodson Food Distribution Center in Keshena.
The Governor spent time helping to load food in the back of vehicles as part of the Menominee Indian Tribe’s biweekly food pickup.
Evers said he originally requested $2 million dollars, but that was voted down by the joint finance committee.
