IOLA, WI- One person was injured after an UTV crash in Waupaca County on Saturday afternoon. Around 3:08 pm, a call came in about a crash on a private property on Roosevelt Road in the Town of Iola. A passenger of the UTV was reported to be pinned underneath the UTV with a fractured leg.
Initial investigation revealed the 32-year-old operator of the UTV was negotiating a curve when the UTV tipped over. Neither the driver nor the 28-year-old passenger were wearing seatbelts or helmets. The passenger was transported by ambulance for serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.
Speed is believed to be a factor in the crash and the investigation is ongoing. The Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Iola Fire Department, Iola Ambulance Service, Iola Police Department, Clintonville Ambulance Service, and the
Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
