MANAWA, WI- The Manawa Rural Fire Department (MRFD) responded to a fire on the 900 block of Elm Street, around 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
Witnesses reported seeing black smoke from several miles away. After arriving on scene, firefighters had to deal with icy conditions. Manawa Public Works spread salt around the area, and no injuries were reported.
The building was a total loss and some tractors were damaged. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Assisting at the scene were firefighters from Weyauwega, Waupaca, Iola Fire and Ambulance, Marion, Bear Creek, Ogdensburg-St. Lawrence, New London.
