TOWN OF HARTLAND, WI- A woman died at the scene of a single vehicle crash in Shawano County Wednesday night.
Sheriff deputies responded to a crash on Townline Road, east of Highway 117 around 10:05 p.m.
A woman was located trapped in the vehicle. Life saving measures were attempted, but the woman died from her injuries at the scene of the crash. The woman has been identified as an 81-year-old Cecil area woman.
The initial investigation shows the vehicle was traveling westbound on Townline Road when the driver lost control and entered the ditch, striking a tree and rolling. Weather is believed to be a factor as the roads were wet and started to become ice covered due to freezing rain at the time of the crash.
