MINOCQUA, WI- A Shawano County man who was believed to be armed and dangerous in Oneida County has been taken into custody.
32-year-old Cody Huebner was on the loose Wednesday after a run in with law enforcement. It was reported that authorities tried to make contact with Huebner when he reportedly got into a vehicle and started a police chase. It was also reported that he allegedly stole another vehicle and went into the woods with a gun.
People in the area were encouraged to stay inside and lock their doors while he was at-large.
According to court records, Huebner had a Probation Warrant for his arrest. The chase was reported to have taken place at high-speeds on Highway 51, with speeds reaching up to 80 miles per hour on icy roads.
According to the police report, Huebner was allegedly trying to enter a home and found keys inside an unlocked vehicle. He allegedly took that vehicle and reportedly hit a deputy, causing non-life-threatening injuries.
As he was running into the woods, the report indicated that he shouted to deputies that he was not going back to jail. Huebner was located about two hours later in the area of South Shore Road and Pollnow Road.
