Converter Thefts From Busses


MENASHA, WI- Menasha Police are investigating the theft of catalytic converters from Lamers Bus Lines in the Fox Cites. Five converters were stolen from Menasha School District busses over the weekend.

The original report cam in around 6:00 a.m. Monday. It was believed that the thefts occurred sometime between Friday night and Monday morning.
Catalytic converters have some precious metals inside that are quite valuable. They are being sold anywhere between $600 and $6,000 dollars.
Experts are recommending that bus companies use a high temperature spray paint to mark the catalytic converters on their busses so that they can be identified if stolen.
The investigation remains ongoing.
