GREEN BAY, WI-Green Bay police are asking people to watch out for fake money once again. Officer say they confiscated more than $1,000 of counterfeit cash across several cases.
Within the last six weeks, fraudulent money has surfaced in seven cases with denominations ranging from $1 to $100 in the city of Green Bay, according to the Police Department. Suspects have also been found carrying “REPLICA” or “MOTION PICTURE” money when arrested on other matters.
Police say if something appears to be off about the currency that you’re being handed, such as the texture or print, do not accept it, and request another form of payment, They say it would also be wise to contact police right away.
Police say REPLICA or MOTION PICTURE money is not anythign new, but some bill appear to have those words scratched off with the possible intent to make it appear real.
