
Gerald “Jack” Krueger, age 89 of Tigerton passed away Thursday, August 25, 2022, at The Pines Post-Acute & Memory Care, Embarrass.
Gerald Vilas Krueger was born on December 14, 1932, in the Town of Fairbanks, Shawano County, to Otto and Violet (Seefeldt) Krueger. He grew up on the family dairy farm in the Town of Fairbanks and graduated from Tigerton High School in 1950. Jack was united in marriage on May 24, 1958, to Kay V. Peterson at Peace United Church of Christ, Shawano. He was a carpenter for many years and built homes all around the Tigerton area. Jack was super handy and could fix just about anything. He was an excellent finish carpenter and he also liked doing all sorts of woodworking projects. Jack owned and operated Tigerton Retail Supply from 1974-1995.
Jack was a longtime member of Peace Lutheran Church, Split Rock, actively serving in all the church offices including President of the congregation. He was a proud member of the Lions Club and Advancement Association, both of Tigerton. Jack also volunteered and served in the Tigerton area on the Village Board, Hospital Board, Main Street Program, and Habitat for Humanity.
In his early days, Jack liked playing softball and going bowling. He always loved to travel and explore new places. Jack was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and fishing, especially his fishing trips to Lac Seul, Ontario, Canada for over 40 years.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Kay; and five children, Julie Sherwin of Appleton, Steve (Terri) Krueger of Tigerton, Val (Steve) Natzke of Tigerton, Mark (Vicki) Krueger of Clarksville, TN, and Paul (Natasha) Krueger of Reading, PA. There are 12 grandchildren: Kim (special friend James) Sherwin, Kristi (special friend Jameson) Harder, Katie (Nya Dang) Thao, Nina (special friend Karl) Sherwin, Joshua (Lyndsey) Krueger, Kacie (Andrew) Tiller, Kylie (Erik) Heinz, Jessalyn (Gunner) Kopitzke, Melissa (Greg) Hidde, Christopher Natzke, Michelle (Cody) Clauson, and Sasha Krueger. There are 18 great grandchildren: Klaus, Cas, Eli, Brynn, Danika, Brett, Delanie, Brock, Devin, Ainsley, Chase, Remy, Bryce, Brooks, Claire, Paige, Grant, and Edwin. He is further survived by two sisters, Lorna Alberg of Weston and Joyce (Henry) Hoeksema of Tigerton; one sister-in-law, Carole Krueger of Caroline; and many other relatives and friends.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Duane Krueger; and a brother-in-law, Robert Alberg.
Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 29th at 11:00 AM at Peace Lutheran Church, Split Rock. Rev. Clifford Kessen will officiate and burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 9:00 AM until time of service at the church.
