SHAWANO, WI- With the recent resignations of two Shawano School Board members, the process is underway for filling the openings.
Board Clerk Jim Davel and Board Vice President Jamie Beyer announced their resignations last week. The remaining board members elected replacements for those officer positions on Monday. Chris Gull received the only nomination for Vice President and Jeana Winslow received the only nomination for Clerk.
With those resignations the Shawano School Board is seeking applicants for the vacant board positions, one seat is for the City of Shawano and one seat is an At-Large seat. On Monday the board also agreed to requirements for applications.
Applications must be qualified electors (eligible to vote for the position). Must be a resident of the Shawano School District (At‐Large position and for the Area IV seat, the resident must be a resident of the City of Shawano). Must be 18 years of age or older. Must be a US citizen.
Both appointments will be through the April 2023 election at which time the successor will be elected for the remainder of the term (April 2024).

The application must include:
• Seat you are applying for.
• a written letter of interest sharing why you are interested and what makes you a good candidate
to serve on the school board. Please include your home address, phone number, and email
address.
• A list of three names and phone numbers of references that may be contacted.
• A resume or description of academic and employment background, as well as any other
pertinent experience.
All applications must be received in the District Office no later than 4:00 p.m., Monday, August 15,
2022.
The Board of Education will set a date and time to interview applicants in open session during a board
meeting.
