HOWARD, WI- A charge of attempted first-degree intentional homicide has been filed against a 36-year-old man from Howard. Joseph Vandertie was taken into custody after a woman was shot in the head Saturday. Her name hasn’t been released. She is reported to be in intensive care but was able to talk with investigators about what happened. Deputies say 9-1-1 dispatchers got a call from a man who was yelling hysterically that his girlfriend had been shot. A woman who was in a car in front of the home as deputies were arriving told them her husband, Joseph Vandertie, had shot the woman inside the house.
