Rebecca L. Lorge, age 46 of Appleton passed away Friday, June 10, 2022, at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center, Appleton, after a courageous battle with cancer.
The former Rebecca Lynn Yancy was born on July 22, 1975, in Oshkosh to George and Mary (Romberg) Yancy Jr. She grew up in Oshkosh from 1975-1978, lived in Antigo from 1978-1986, and then moved back to Oshkosh. She graduated from American High School.
Rebecca loved sunshine and fresh air. Her passions included traveling and exploring local and exotic destinations. She was a big advocate for animal rights and practiced what she preached. She maintained a lifestyle of health and fitness and inspired many through her example. You would often find her at the gym or out on the road running. The many marathons she completed, and just the way she lived her daily life, are irrefutable proof of her dedication to self-betterment.
She had a magnetic personality that made you want to be around her, a smile that truly did light up the room, and a unique sense of humor that was guaranteed to make you laugh.
“Positivity Attracts Positivity” is how she lived. Rebecca loved her family, loved her friends, and loved her life.
Survivors include her husband of 15 years, Jason; their rescue dogs, Lenny and Willow; a brother, Tom (Denise LaFleur-Yancy) Yancy; a sister-in-law, Jill (Paul) Rogers, and her father-in-law, Daniel Lorge. She is further survived by nieces and nephews, Alaina Yancy, Savannah Yancy, Timothy Yancy, Alexandre LaFleur, Isabelle Yancy, Jacob Rogers, Jenna Rogers, and Jessica Rogers; and many other relatives and friends.
Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents; her mother-in-law, Candy Lorge, and her rescue dogs, Tabby and Bella.
