SHAWANO, WI- The Shawano Police Department says they have been receiving complaints of people going through unlocked vehicles, and in some cases, taking items. Shawano Police Captain Shane Stange says it tends to happen when school gets out the weather gets warmer.
“Lock your vehicles at all times and keep valuables out of site,” Stange said. “Cameras are a real help and just leaving some lights on can also be a big deterrent.”
Stange says that the more people put up camera’s it can serve as a deterrent. “You can get some nice cameras with phenomenal quality off of Amazon or at Walmart, and they are pretty inexpensive.
