Retzlaff Gets New Judge

SHAWANO, WI- A Marathon County judge will be taking over the Ann Retzlaff case. The Shawano County campground owner previously had Judge William Kussel, but he took himself off the case after Retzlaff field a “common law grand jury” case against him and two other county officials.
According to court records, Retzlaff demanded that officials prove they have authority over her under the constitution. Court reports show that Retzlaff has made several claims to be a “sovereign citizen”. She is facing four charges, including fleeing an officer during a 2021 incident. Police say Retzlaff refused to pull over after running a traffic light and was eventually arrested. Since that time, Retzlaff has failed to appear in court on multiple occasions and that led to a body-only warrant for her arrest.
