Shawano County Judge Recuses Himself From Criminal Case Against Campground Owner

SHAWANO, WI-A Shawano County judge has recused himself from a criminal case against a campground owner.  Judge William Kussel won’t be hearing the case against Ann Retzlaff, who faces several charges connected to a May incident.  Retzlaff has filed a “common law grand jury lawsuit” against the judge, the Shawano County district attorney, and the county corporation counsel.  Retzlaff alleges Judge Kussel, D-A Gregory A. Parker, and Corporation Counsel Larenda Maulson injured, oppressed, defrauded, and deprived her of her due process rights.  Retzlaff was arrested last May.
