The High School Football Conference season begins as Week 3 takes place Friday. This week is a rivalry week with Shawano hosting New London in the team’s 76th meeting. The teams have met every year since 1976. The battle for County N takes place in the Northeastern Conference when Freedom hosts Little Chute, both teams without a loss this season. Week 3 also marks the traditional M&M game between Marinette and Menominee Michigan.
WEEK 3- FEATURE GAME
AMHERST AT SHIOCTON
The early lead in the CWC Large is up for the taking tonight as Shiocton hosts Amherst. Both teams come into the game with a 2-0 record.
Amherst Senior Quarterback Landon Moe is off to a good start with 315 passing yards. His main target has been Ian Hall, who is second in the conference in receiving. Shiocton has victories over Bonduel and Crivitz so far this year, but those programs are not at the level of Amherst, and the Chiefs will more than have their work cut out for them this week.
Four teams in the Conference started the year 2-0. Wittenberg-Birnamwood has the conference-leading rusher and passer, Ben Wiselowski.
