WAUSAU, WI- (Wisconsin Radio Network) – Some hospitals in Wisconsin’s Northwoods have changed ownership. Wausau-based Aspirus Health has announced the purchase of seven hospitals and 21 physician clinics from Ascension. The group includes Howard Young Medical in Woodruff, St. Michael’s Hospital in Stevens Point, and Good Samaritan Hospital in Merrill. Aspirus officials say patients won’t be changing doctors if they are currently served by Ascension, but the names of the facilities will be changing in the future. Air and ground medical transportation services are also part of the transaction.
