Stanley Allen Miller was born on December 5, 1949, at Clintonville Hospital to Stanley and Elaine (Schoenrock) Miller. He grew up in the Big Falls area and graduated from Marion High School in 1967. Stanley started working as a welder and assembler at Marion Body Works. Then he entered the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam from February of 1970 to September of 1971. Stanley was united in marriage on June 22, 1972, to Susan Polzin at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Town of Dupont. The couple shared 48 years together and were divorced late last year. After the military, he returned to Marion Body Works working mainly in the Engineering Department for a total of 48 years, retiring in 2017.
Stanley was a longtime member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Big Falls. For many years he was an active member of the Big Falls VFW Post 8770 and the Wisconsin Bowhunters Association. Stanley always loved the outdoors, whether he was deer hunting, fishing, or working in his vegetable garden.
Survivors include two brothers, Robert “Buzz” Miller of Big Falls and Michael (Faye) Miller of Tigerton. There are four nieces, Alyssa Miller, Kristin (Matt) Bestul, Danielle (Jose) Arroyo, and Anna (Ray) Knaup; and one nephew, Kenan Allred. He is further survived by great nieces, great nephews, many other relatives and friends. Stanley was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 23rd at 11:00 AM at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Big Falls. Rev. Janice Kuder will officiate and inurnment will be at Big Falls Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by members of the Big Falls VFW Post 8770 and the Marion American Legion Post 198. Visitation will be held on Friday from 10:00 AM until time of service at the church.
