WARRENSBURG, MO- (Wisconsin Radio Network) – The Missouri man accused of killing two Wisconsin brothers has made a request for a speedy trial in a separate case. A Missouri judge has scheduled a hearing for June 21st on the request from Garland Nelson who is charged with stealing a motor vehicle. Prosecutors say Nelson convinced another person to steal a trailer while he is being held in jail, waiting for his double-murder trial to start. Nelson claims he paid 500 dollars for the trailer, but authorities say it wasn’t his. That trial is on hold. Nelson is scheduled to go on trial for allegedly killing Nick and Justin Diemel next year.
