GREEN BAY, WI (Wisconsin Radio Network) – Not aliens making a visit, lights that were seen streaking across the sky in northeast Wisconsin last Thursday were satellites. The Space-X Starlink satellites were launched last week to provide global internet service. The calls started coming in the media newsrooms and police dispatchers at about 9:45 p-m. One Menasha man says they saw a “huge stream of white lights” at his house. Eventually, the Starlink satellites will cover the Earth, making broadband service accessible anywhere. The 60 satellites spotted last week are part of a much bigger project that will put about 25-hundred satellites in orbit eventually. Astronomers don’t like them because they interfere will telescope observations and they effectively “photo-bomb” time-lapse pictures of outer space.
