BUCHANAN, WI- A law firm is threatening to sue a small town in Outagamie County over its transportation fee. The Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty says that fee is really an illegal tax. It alleges the Town of Buchanan is trying to go around the state law limiting property tax increases. Town administrator Maggie Mahoney says members will deliberate and “follow the claims process.”
