KESHENA, WI-The Menominee Tribal Police Department recently received information about a scam that has impacted citizens. Officers learned that several people complained of receiving a phone call from some identifying themselves as the DEA or Drug Enforcement Administration. According to the victims, they were told that someone located their ID card in a burnt-out vehicle that was part of a murder investigation or drug investigation. Officers say you should never give out personal information over the phone and agencies like the DEA will not ask for monetary compensation.
