
Ricky J. Machipness, age 46 of South Branch Keshena, started his journey to the Spirit World Sunday morning, February 28, 2021. He was born May 16, 1974 in Chicago, Illinois, a son of the late Francis “Chip” Machipness and Rosella (Olson) Phillippi. Ricky attended Chemawa Indian High School.
He will be remembered for the abundant love he gave his nieces and nephews, especially his godchildren, Jonah Francis George and Seanae Grignon. The joy and humor Ricky exuberated with friends and family will not go unnoticed, along with his love for fashion and music. Chicago was always home to him, and he loved every minute he could visit. Ricky spent years doing seasonal work with his father and his window washing business in Chicago.
He is survived by his sisters, Antonette “Toni” Munoz of South Branch, Lucille “Lucy” Machipness of Neenah, Jennifer McCombs of North Carolina, and Cheyenne Grignon of Green Bay; special niece Marisa Munoz (Isaac George) of Green Bay; other nieces, Angela Munoz, Ricki Rose Thompson; nephews, Chadwick Pamonicutt, Alijah Pamonicutt, and Edmond Broeffle; great-nieces, Jade and Jasmine George, Aaliyah Kelly; great-nephew and Godson, Jonah Francis George; God-daughter, Seanae Grignon; and numerous aunts and uncles. Ricky was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Rosella; grandparents, Luke and Lucille Warrington of South Branch; nephew, Bret McCombs; and niece, Chelsey McCombs of North Carolina.
He will be deeply missed by family and friends. A memorial service will be held Friday, March 5, 2021 at the South Branch Community Center at 3:00 PM. Visitation with social distancing will begin Thursday, March 4, 2021 at 2:00 PM.
