
Sharon L. Gueths, age 77 of Shawano, passed away peacefully on Monday, February
15, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 22, 1943 in
Wausau, Wisconsin, to the late Alfred and Alice (Steffen) Mielke. Sharon attended
school in Wausau.
On December 28, 1991, Sharon was united in marriage to James Gueths in Oshkosh.
This year they would have celebrated their 30 th wedding anniversary. She was a
member of Peace United Church of Christ. Sharon loved surrounding herself with
family and friends. Her weeks were filled with her cherished friends from bridge clubs,
and Friday night cards. Sharon’s infectious laugh, happiness, and smile always brought
joy and life wherever she was. Once a year you knew you could find her in the kitchen,
baking her famous grand champion cheesecakes and bakery items galore for the
Shawano County Fair. Sharon’s life was filled with joy and many special moments with
her dedicated and loving husband.
Survivors include her husband, James Gueths of Shawano; her children, Greg (Pam)
Jaenke and Stephanie (Mark) Ziebell; her stepchildren, Jeff (Ellen) Gueths, Jennifer
(Travis) Thede, and Michelle (Scot) Harenburg; her grandchildren, Logan Gueths, Caleb
Gueths, Beau Riley Gueths, Hannah Thede, Lauren Thede, Rachel Thede, Romey
Harenburg, Emily Jaenke, Allie Ziebell, and Austin Ziebell; her brother, Jim (Joan)
Mielke; and nephews.
A memorial service for Sharon will be held on Friday, February 19, 2021 at 11:00 AM at
Mickelson Funeral Service in Shawano. Mr. Richard Menning will officiate. Visitation
will begin at 10:00 AM and continue until the time of service. In lieu of flowers and
plants, memorials are preferred to the Shawano County Humane Society in Sharon’s
