
Geraldine was born January 11, 1927 in the Town of Richmond, the only child of the late Alfred and Mabel (Nuske) Fenske. She attended Stony Hill Country School, then Gresham High School where she graduated with the class of 1945. Following high school Geraldine went to the Langlade County Normal School. On August 9, 1947, Geraldine was united in marriage to Lawrence Gueths at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church~Stony Hill. The couple lived and farmed in the Town of Richmond, where she was a farm wife and homemaker. Lawrence passed away on December 31, 1998.
She is a member of St. Jakobi Lutheran Church, and was active with the Ladies Aid Society, the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, and the Ladies Bible Study Group. Geraldine also taught Saturday School and was a 7th grade confirmation catechist. Her hobbies included knitting, crocheting, and sewing. She also enjoyed gardening and canning.
Survivors include her four children, Warren Gueths of the Town of Richmond, Virgil (Cindy) Gueths of Shawano, Dianne (Stuart) Mattlin-Coles of Las Vegas, NV, and Lois (John) Krizan of Shawano; seven grandchildren, Virgil (Jackie) Gueths II, Helen (Mark) Mueller, Nathaniel (Angela) Gueths, Katrina (Dan) Davis, Trevor (Ashley) Krizan, Devin Krizan, and Nathan Krizan; ten great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Elfrieda (Marvin) Buettner and Betty (Sam) Cartwright; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Lawrence “Larry” Gueths, Jr. in 1973; six brothers-in-law; and one sister-in-law.
A funeral service for Geraldine will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St. Jakobi Lutheran Church, Town of Richmond. Pastor Travis Kleinschmidt will officiate. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9:30 at the church and continue until the hour of service.
Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the family requests masks be worn while in attendance and social distancing be followed.
