Orley A. Sparks, age 87 of Clintonville died peacefully on Friday, December 11, 2020 at ThedaCare Medical Center, Shawano, and is now free of pain.
The former Orley Ann Moericke was born on February 4, 1933 on the family farm in the Town of Dupont, Waupaca County, to Harvey and Anna (Fritz) Moericke. She was united in marriage on October 3, 1964 to Ed Sparks in Chicago, IL. Orley worked for 41 years as a nanny / housekeeper for the Dwyer family in Winnetka, Illinois. She retired in 1997 and settled in Clintonville to be closer to relatives. She resided at Olen Apartments for many years until her recent move to Aster Assisted Living.
Orley was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Marion. She was involved in many activities at the Clintonville Senior Center. She loved spending time with friends and playing bingo as her health allowed.
Survivors include one sister, Joyce Utecht of Wausau: and two brothers, Gale (Jeanie) Moericke of Quinlan, TX, and John (Geneva) Moericke of Waupaca. There are two godchildren, Larry Yaeger of New London and Carlyn Raduchel of Amasa, MI. She is further survived by a sister-in-law, Dorothy Hilliard of Denison, TX; a special niece, Brenda Mehlberg of Clintonville; a good friend and caregiver, Susan Heidke of Clintonville; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Orley was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ed; two sisters, Jean Raduchel and Dawn (Norman) Yaeger; one brother, Gerald (Geraldine Brass) Moericke; and a brother-in-law, Ed Kufahl.
Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 19th at 1:00 PM at Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Clintonville. Rev. Sara Gorman will officiate and inurnment will be at a later date at Graceland Cemetery, Clintonville. Visitation will be on Saturday from 11:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home.
