
Nicholas “Nick” Kruzicki, age 91, passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2020. He was born on October 18, 1929, in Racine, WI son of the late Basil and Frances (Jelinski) Kruzicki. Nick grew up by Galloway. He attended both Wittenberg and Green Bay West High Schools and immediately enlisted in the US Air Force at the age of 17 with the permission of his parents. He served in the US Air Force for 4 years as a pilot and made the rank of Staff Sergeant. Upon his return home, Nick was united in marriage On May 30, 1952, to Helena Hooyman at St. Denis Catholic Church in Shiocton. He and Helena bought and ran a farm together. He also worked at Allis Chalmers, The Sportsman Bar in Shiocton, with his family and at Badger Highways as Foreman of the paving crew. Nick was a member of Operating Engineers Local #139 and the American Legion. He served as chairman of Deer Creek, Outagamie County Supervisor, and chairman of ASCS Committee for Outagamie County. He enjoyed card playing, feeding the birds, flowers, gardening, and fishing (he could never wait for Helena to fry them in her special pan). Mostly he loved spending time with Helena and his family.
Nick is survived by his children, Nancy (Richard) Immel and David (Doreen) Kruzicki; grandchildren: Tracy Kruzicki, Derek (Cora) Kruzicki, Jesse Kruzicki, Matthew Immel, Chelsea (Cory) Backler, Alisha Kruzicki, Amber (Wesley) Yeomans, and Dalee Kruzicki; step-grandchildren Jessica Schmidt and Casey Korth; great-grandchildren: Seth, Davis, Oliver, Parker, Brenna, Link, Owen, Charli, Aria, Ally, and Renely; siblings Larry (Angie) Kruzicki and Myron (Carol) Kruzicki; sister-in-laws Roseann (Don) Smith, Audrey (Gene) Blake and Mary Lou Hooyman; and a brother-in-law Dick Volkman. He is further survived by numerous nephews, nieces, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son Dennis; granddaughter Diana Kruzicki; and sister Barb Volkman.
A funeral will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bear Creek at a later date. A private family burial will be in the Shiocton-Bovina Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff at Aster Care in Clintonville for their care and concern shown to Nick.
