
Elaine L. Much, age 88, of Tigerton passed away Friday, October 16, 2020 at St. Joseph Residence, New London.
The former Elaine Lois Winter was born on September 11, 1932 in the Town of Union, Waupaca County, to Emil and Marie (Schmidt) Winter. She grew up on County Road OO in the Town of Union and graduated from Marion High School in 1950. Elaine was united in marriage on October 8, 1960 to Roscoe Q. Much at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Symco. Elaine and Roscoe moved to Oak Park, Illinois, and she worked for several years at Illinois Bell Telephone Company. In 1963 the couple returned to Wisconsin and settled in Tigerton.
Elaine spent countless hours working in her vegetable garden, canning, cooking, and baking. The couple enjoyed going for car rides whether it was just around Wisconsin or to other states around the country. Elaine was most proud of being a homemaker, taking care of her husband and raising their son. Her husband of 58 years preceded in death on February 9, 2019.
Survivors include one son Kevin Much, a close friend Kathryn Stockheimer, and a brother-in-law Merlin (Ruth) Much, all of Tigerton. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roscoe, an infant daughter Angel; two sisters Jeanette Snyder and Violet Bezokas; and four brothers Adrian, Ed, Howard, and Victor Winter.
According to Elaine’s wishes there will be no viewing or visitation. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, October 31st at 11:00 AM at Union Cemetery, Tigerton, with Rev. Dean Suehring officiating. Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Tigerton, is assisting with the arrangements.
