Paul A. Heger Jr., age 90, of Shawano passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at ThedaCare Medical Center – Waupaca.
Paul Alfred Heger was born on November 2, 1929 in the Town of Fairbanks, Shawano County, to Paul and Ruby (Frailing) Heger Sr. He graduated from Tigerton High School in 1943. Paul was united in marriage on June 20, 1953 to Lorraine A. Bucher at Peace Lutheran Church in Split Rock. In his early years, Paul worked on the family farm in Tigerton. Then he was employed as an electrician for 30 years wiring trucks at FWD Corporation in Clintonville. The couple lived most of their lives in Split Rock and settled in Shawano in 1995. Paul’s wife preceded him in death on November 9, 2015.
Paul was a lifelong member of Peace Lutheran Church, Split Rock. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on cars, playing horseshoes and cards. Paul especially loved spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include four children: Marjorie (friend William Baraniak) Dankmeyer of Appleton, Karen (Greg) Wiley of Kalamazoo, MI, David (Kathy) Heger of Neenah, and Gary (Tammy) Heger of Manawa. There are nine grandchildren: Lori (friend Brad Stevens) Kleman, Scott (Cyndi Polakowski) Dankmeyer, Christopher (Leslie) Wiley, James (Heather) Wiley, Paula Wiley, Amy (Michael) Berguis, Layla (friend Dakota Zanin) Heger, Nicole Heger, and April Heger. There are thirteen great grandchildren: Emily (fiancé Brandon), Megan, Matthew, Noah, Nathan, Natalie, Nicole, Nolan, Austin, Jenna, Brianna, Isabelle, and Brielle. He is further survived by one sister, Jean (Carlton) Benz of Shawano; and many other relatives and friends. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lorraine, two sisters Alice and Marion, a grandson Niles Wiley, and son-in-law Lee Dankmeyer.
Graveside Service will be held on Friday, October 16th at 11:00 AM at Peace Lutheran Cemetery, Split Rock, with Rev. Craig Nehring officiating. Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Tigerton, is assisting the family.
