NORTHEAST, WI- The Bay Conference announced that they are suspending the practice of having spectators at any athletic events until further notice, effective immediately.
Conference officials say in recent days, several counties that include Bay Conference schools have issued public health emergencies.
Shawano Activities Director Joel Wondra says it is disappointing considering the outstanding job that families and the community have done in following guidelines that were put in place.
The Bay Conference however feels that this step is essential for providing opportunities for competition for the athletes.
Each Conference school continues to work on providing live streams of the events to the best of their ability.
