James “Jamie” Dent, age 48, of Tigerton passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 13, 2020 at his home.
James Michael Dent was born on August 26, 1972 at Tigerton Hospital to Michael and Susan (Dankmeyer) Dent. He graduated from Tigerton High School in 1990. Jamie worked a few years as a vault / cage manager at North Star Mohican Casino in Bowler. Then for a few years he owned and operated Crossroads Bar & Grill in Tigerton. Jamie also sold used cars and tended bar at the bowling alley. In 2004 he moved to Florida and later that year was united in marriage on December 23rd to Amy N. Koenigs at the Broward County Courthouse, FL. Jamie started with BELFOR Property Restoration, Deerfield Beach, FL, managing the warehouse. In 2009 the couple returned to Tigerton and he started as a car salesman for Langlade Ford in Antigo. Jamie’s outgoing personality easily allowed him to be able to sell anyone a vehicle.
Jamie was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Tigerton. He served for some time as a Tigerton School District board member. His interests included cooking, grilling out, and he definitely made the best deep-fried foods. Jamie especially enjoyed gun deer hunting each year. He also liked catching and training Pokémon GO characters on his phone. Jamie always loved spending time with his children and family. He will be remembered most for his wonderful sense of humor and his big laugh.
Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Amy; and six children, Tyler, Tanner, Myah, Brielle, Myles, and Maxlee. He is also survived by his mother, Susan (David) U’Ren; his mother-in-law, Cheri (Michael) Tauferner; and his sister, Jodi (Keith) Mallak, all of Tigerton. He is further survived by his uncle Raymond and aunt Gloria (God Mother) Dent of Tigerton; his aunt Marge Dankmeyer of Appleton; his step mother-in-law Sharon Koenigs of Pella; step brother Robert (Kristi) U’Ren of Michigan; step sister Nicholle (Ben) Pascoe of Green Bay; step brother-in-law Edwin Tauferner of Madison; dear friends Todd and Susan Drews of Tigerton; and many other relatives and friends.
Jamie was preceded in death by his father Michael Dent; father-in-law Timm Koenigs; brother-in-law T.J. Koenigs; aunt Diane (Ken) Myers; and uncle Lee Dankmeyer.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 19th at 11:00 AM at Zion Lutheran Church, Tigerton. Rev. Sharon Fox-Bogen will officiate and inurnment will be at Union Cemetery, Tigerton. Visitation will be on Saturday from 9:00 AM until time of service at the church. Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Tigerton, is assisting with the arrangements.
