Betty B. Ainsworth, age 84, of Shawano, passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2020. Betty was born on May 19, 1936, in Shawano, daughter of the late George and Effie (Fink) Thimke. On August 17, 1963, Betty was united in marriage to Vernon Ainsworth in Shawano. Vernon preceded her in death on August 7, 2014. Betty enjoyed traveling with Vernon throughout the years to numerous co-op meetings and conventions across the country. Her family was first and foremost in her life, she cherished spending time with her grandchildren and she never missed a family sporting event. She also enjoyed watching the Milwaukee Brewers and the Green Bay Packers. Betty loved corresponding with her family and friends through cards and letters and truly appreciated every card or letter she ever received. Some of Betty’s passions included gardening, canning, and tending to the apple orchard. She also loved baking and made a great banana bread that she happily shared with those she knew and loved.
Betty is survived by: her children, Mark (Patricia) Ainsworth, Paul (Wendy) Ainsworth, Susan Ainsworth, and Christopher (Nichole) Ainsworth; grandchildren, Ashley, Dustin, Courtney, Brett, Alyssa (Brandon), Nicole, Jacob (Hayley), Derek (Miranda), Leah, Isabella and Avery; great-grandchildren, Caden Lee, Maverick James, Kylie Layne, and a baby boy on the way; siblings, Mavis Rindt and Jim (Barbara) Thimke; as well as other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by: her husband, Vernon Ainsworth; parents, George and Effie Thimke; sister, Lillian Darling; biological parents, Herman and Lydia Goerl; biological brothers, Rueben, Phillip and Roger Goerl.
A funeral service for Betty will be held at 1:00 pm, on Wednesday, July 29, 2020, at Church on the Hill, Shawano, with Rev. Daniel Kim officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday at the church from 11:00 am until the time of service. Masks will be required at the church. The church is also offering Facebook Live streaming of the services as well as short range radio broadcast of the service for those who choose not to stay inside the building.
