Jeanette A. Hauser, age 95, of Marion passed away Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Care Partners Assisted Living, Clintonville.
The former Jeanette Audrey Sengstock was born on August 8, 1924 in Tigerton to Otto and Ida (Wendt) Sengstock. After graduating from Tigerton High School, she worked at National Enameling & Stamping Company in Milwaukee; then returned as a Postal Clerk to Tigerton. On May 12, 1945 Jeanette was united in marriage to Clarence J. Hauser at St. John Lutheran Church, Tigerton. After farming near Fond du Lac and Pella for 10 years, they purchased Hauser’s Midway Bar which they owned and operated until 1973. Years later, they moved to Marion. Her husband preceded her in death on November 29, 2011.
Jeanette had a passion for writing letters and sending cards to older friends and relatives just “to make their day”. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing, crafts and bingo which she usually won. She taught herself how to play the piano and piano accordion – all by ear. Her music was lively and flowed beautifully. Jeanette loved to read and always shared what she learned and passed the literature forward. She took pleasure in bringing food to those who were sick. Jeanette really cared about people. She had a giving spirit and shared that spirit with those around her. Bringing laughter to brighten someone’s day was a priority. She loved to bring a smile to your face and shared the laughter while telling one of her many stories. Jeanette will be remembered for her great sense of humor which touched so many. Most of all she loved her family and she enjoyed the Grandchildren’s visits. She thought the Great Grandchildren were “special entertainers”.
