SHAWANO, WI – A continuation of a construction project from last year resumes on Wednesday.
“We are looking to wrap up last year’s project that ran into some cold weather.”
Tim Rank of the Wisconsin DOT told Jay Van Stiphout’s Midday Show that it involves a portion of Highway 22 between Shawano and Cecil.
“It will be a similar traffic impact that you saw last year which will be single lane closures and flagging traffic.”
The project includes milling, paving and some touchup.
“We are going to melt some pavement off and by the end of the week we are looking to put in new asphalt and wrap up this project.”
Flagging operations will take place between Rusch Road and Cedar Lane and Rusch Road and Madison Way will be closed during the paving work on May 7 and May 8.
“We are going to do pavement marking and shoulder gravel which will wrap things up before May 15 if the weather works with us.”
Rank says they will also put in new asphalt between Airport Road and Cedar Lane.
A construction project also gets underway Wednesday to repair, remove and replace concrete patches on westbound 29 from County U to Spruce Road. The project is scheduled to go through Friday, May 15. Lane closures will be marked with barrels and barricades for the length and duration of the project.
