TOWN OF WAGNER, WI – A Marinette County woman has died as a result of a house fire early Monday morning.
Marinette County Sheriff’s Department officials arrived on the scene shortly after 12:40 a.m.
A call came in from a neighbor reporting that they believed a house was on fire.
Crews arrived at the property on Snyder Road to find the house was a total loss and the fire had spread into the grass and woods.
Human remains found are believed to be that of an elderly woman who lived at the residence alone.
The cause of the fire is unknown and it remains under investigation.
