Mona A. Urban, age 87, of Shawano, was called home to her savior on Tuesday, April 14, 2020. Mona was born on May 16, 1932, in Advance, to the late Carl and Effie (Bergner) Druckrey. She attended Shawano High School and graduated with the Class of 1950. On September 23, 1953, Mona was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Urban at St. James Church Chapel. She was a lifelong member of St. James Lutheran Church. For many years Mona worked for “Her Veterans” in the Shawano County Veteran Service Office. She loved her work and was dedicated to those who served our country. Mona enjoyed crafting and collecting antiques. Her “Cottage on the Bay” was a place where she enjoyed spending her weekends and special times with others. Mona was a loving and doting grandmother who will be missed dearly by all of those who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish Mona’s memory are: her husband of 66 years, Bob; her daughter, Connie Hesse; her granddaughter, Kris (Micah Brzezinski) Hesse; and her sister Beverlee Kassube. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her grandson, Lee Hesse; her siblings, Kay (Chum) Parson, Sidney (Inez) Druckrey, Neil (Irene) Druckrey, Roger (Helen) Druckrey, LaBonna (August) Kruse, and Earl (Susan) Druckrey; and son-in-law, Duane Hesse.
