MADISON, WI – (Wisconsin Radio Network)- The Wisconsin Supreme Court has ruled Governor Tony Evers doesn’t have the authority to move the state’s spring election. That means voters who are going to cast their ballots in-person will do so today.
The high court’s ruling came on a four-to-two vote. Evers had worried about large groups of voters at polling locations, especially in Milwaukee where 180 locations have been narrowed to just five polling centers.
Milwaukee County has been the Wisconsin county hardest-hit county by the coronavirus pandemic. Republicans called the governor’s executive order an unconstitutional overreach.
