
SHAWANO, WI – Monday kicked off the Shawano School District bagged breakfast/lunch program.
The district set aside six sites for families to pick up a bagged meal.
The pickup times are separated in 10-minute sessions and allow for six different windows based on the families last name.
The setup is in place to enforce social distancing while still providing food for the students.
The schedule will be in place while the schools are closed.
The schedule is based on the first letter of the last name of the person picking up.
A-D- 10:00 am
E-H- 10:10 am
I-L- 10:20 am
M-P- 10:30 am
Q-T- 10:40 am
U-Z- 10:50 am
Pick up locations are at Shawano Middle School, Bartlet Street, and 5th Street by the old hospital site
Franklin Park
Elizabeth Street
Eberlein Park
Those picking up meals just need to let the worker know how many kids they are picking up for.
In Clintonville, families who are requesting home delivery are being asked to place a cooler or tote outside their front door for the meals to be distributed in. Those delivering the meals will “Knock and Honk” upon delivery. A drive-through service is also available from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the Clintonville High School, Redford/Longfellow Elementary, the Shopko parking lot and St. Mary’s Bear Creek & Village Park in Embarrass.
Bonduel School officials are delivering meals and leaving them at the door of the families that request them and will not be ringing the doorbell or knocking first.
Gillett began their meal program on Friday by offering school lunch bags every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Shuttles are being sent out at 9:00 and 11:00 to deliver the meals. Student families can expect a knock at their door within an hour or two of the shuttle departure time.
White, Red, Blue and Orange shuttles are departing at 9:00 am
Black, Yellow, Purple and Green shuttles are departing at 11:00 am.
Shuttles will stop at all homes of students regardless of whether or not they ride the bus not matter their grade level.
