SHAWANO, WI- The Shawano County Executive Committee got its first look at several department budgets for 2027 during a meeting Wednesday, giving committee members an opportunity to ask questions about proposed spending.
Several department heads presented budgets that were over their current targets. In many cases, the increases were attributed primarily to higher salaries and wages.
The discussions are part of the county’s ongoing budget process, with additional department budget reviews scheduled on Thursday.
The proposed 2027 county budget will eventually go before the full Shawano County Board for final approval.
