Shawano Police Officers responded to a disturbance early Tuesday morning on Prairie Street. Police also investigated a report of a small bag of cocaine found on the ground near a business on East Green Bay Street. No witness was identified as to who dropped it.
Police also took a report of a hit-and-run involving a vehicle parked on South Sawyer Street. A scam was reported at ThedaCare Medical Center involving an unsolicited bill for toner. No money was lost and no product was received.
Officers later responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle photographing buildings on County Highway B. Police also investigated a theft at the Walmart area and checked on reports of juveniles riding motor scooters at Shawano High School.
Late Tuesday night, police responded to a report of a vehicle driving erratically on Highway 47-55 near Frailing Lane. The caller said the vehicle was all over the road.
Police also handled several traffic stops, welfare checks, medical assists and other routine calls throughout the day.
Clintonville Police began the day with a series of business checks throughout the city, followed by extra patrols on North Main and 20th Street.
Officers conducted a traffic stop at North 12th Street and Golf Club Road, and later investigated a suspicious activity complaint on North 12th Street.
A motor vehicle crash was reported on North Main Street Tuesday afternoon. Police also responded to a 911 call on Stewart Street and provided mutual aid on Lakeshore Road.
Officers were called to Bennett Street for an agency assist and handled two separate noise complaints — one on West 13th Street and another on Memorial Circle.
Extra patrols were also conducted on Memorial Circle Tuesday night.
Clintonville police also responded to two ambulance calls, including one on West Green Tree Road early Tuesday morning and another on Industrial Avenue late Tuesday night.
Shawano County deputies handled 43 calls for service Monday, August 11th, according to the department’s daily incident summary.
The day began just after midnight with a traffic stop on Highway 29. But the first major call came around 5:20 a.m., when a resident on 5th Street in Mattoon reported criminal damage after “a rock [was] thrown through [the] back window,” according to the report. The caller told dispatch her son had been receiving prank calls before the incident.
Deputies also responded to several 911 hang‑ups, including one near Marion where dispatch logged an open line but “no emergent noises.”
A pair of welfare checks were conducted late morning. One involved a client in a conditional release program who hadn’t been heard from in two weeks, prompting concerns about a possible PTSD episode.
Environmental complaints continued in Tigerton, where deputies documented illegal dumping on Berg Road. One caller reported “more garbage… including a refrigerator,” noting the pile had grown since the previous day.
In Gillett, a property dispute escalated when a resident reported a neighbor pulling out landscaping shrubs, insisting they were on his side of the property line. The town chairman also contacted deputies to report the same issue.
The busiest stretch came during the evening hours. Deputies were dispatched to Bonduel for a domestic disturbance after a caller reported her boyfriend “threw her down the stairs — choked her — [and] took her purse.”
Just before 11 p.m., a homeowner in Shawano reported a suspicious female captured on a back‑door camera, described as crying and carrying a backpack before disappearing from view.
The night ended with another disturbance in Gresham involving a girlfriend refusing to leave a residence.
Stockbridge‑Munsee Police logged two additional calls, including a disorderly conduct complaint and a report of an abused, extremely skinny dog found wandering near Park Street.
