The Bonduel Bears enter the 2026 football season with high expectations after sharing the Packerland Conference championship a year ago and making a deep run to the WIAA Division 6 sectional finals.
Bonduel is projected to finish atop the conference standings this fall, returning much of the core that helped the Bears become one of northeastern Wisconsin’s top Division 6 programs.
Leading the way is senior quarterback Quinn Wesenberg, a multi-year starter who returns after another strong season under center. He’ll once again have one of the state’s top playmakers behind him in senior running back Carter Moesch, who rushed for more than 1,500 yards and 23 touchdowns last season while proving to be a threat both on the ground and through the air.
The Bears also return plenty of talent around their stars. Malachi Gray and Jack Zernicki are back in the backfield, while Jayden Popp, a First Team All-Packerland selection on the offensive line, returns to anchor the trenches.
Bonduel does have a major hole to fill after the graduation of All-State standout Ryan Westrich, but expectations remain high thanks to the experience and talent returning throughout the roster.
The race for the conference title could be more competitive this season with Oconto Falls joining the Packerland Conference after winning the Northwoods Conference last year. Kewaunee, which claimed the outright conference championship in 2025 before falling to Bonduel in the playoffs, is also expected to contend near the top of the standings.
